AUTUMN 2011 - Retail space market active and stable

The amount of vacant retail space in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area remained below the level of
100,000 m2. The vacancy rate was 2.8 per cent, which can already be perceived as short supply
from a user’s point of view. The highest demand continues to focus on prime properties, however,
and retail space in less favourable locations does not attract users. There was a slight increase in
retail space rents in spring, particularly in the Helsinki city centre and surrounding areas.
We expect the vacancy rate of retail space to remain at a low level at least until the end of next
year (Catella Market review autumn 2011).
